Make seedling pots from Newspaper

Browsing YouTube the other night I came across this great video on how to make seedling starter pots out of newspaper.

You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video

At the end Willi Galloway says that you should take the seedling out of the pot. I think that if you dig your hole for the plant, then pull the bottom out of the newspaper pot the roots will grow straight down and will reduce transplant stress.

That is fantastic! I think I’ll try it with the kids.

Congratulations for your nice and interesting blog. My special attention went to your contribution on newspaper seedling pots, because it shows that we can achieve wonderful things with very cheap, not sofisticated materials. Thanks for helping poor rural people in the drylands with such a practical idea. I have mentioned it on my own “desertification” blog.
